The United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) convened in 2011 and published its recommendations for the improvement of working conditions for migrant women in Israel. Although progress has been made in this area since 2011, many of the policies and practices in Israel regarding migrant women still do not comply with the CEDAW Convention. This report summarizes the context in which migrant women work, details the areas in which they are disadvantaged and offers recommendations for how to bring an end to the rights violations and discrimination of female migrant workers.
