In certain cases, workers which have terminated their employment at their own will, are entitled to severance pay. Among those circumstances are tangible deterioration of working conditions, and withholding of wages or social benefits – a worker that has experienced any of those might be entitled to severance pay. In order to be entitled for this type of severance pay, the worker is required to have given notice, letting their employer know that they intend to resign due to these deteriorating working conditions. This gives the employer the opportunity to preserve the employment and improve its conditions.
