So, what happened at Kav LaOved this month?
We demanded that the paid-sick-leave collected from Palestinian workers be returned to them and not diverted by the Israeli government (which has collected close to 100 million dollars for this!) to upgrading the checkpoints as proposed; we filed an appeal to the Be’er Sheva court on behalf of a group of Indian migrant workers who fell victim to fraudulent scheme in which Israeli middlemen profited off their promise of work visas; And we petitioned the High Court of Justice to cancel the discriminatory refugee/asylum seeker deposit law which only serves to impoverish an already weak population.
