Who is protecting the rights of Palestinian workers in Israel? Gaps in the enforcement of Palestinian workers’ labor rights.

Speakers
Einat Podjarni is Kav LaOved’s Board Chairwoman. She is a human rights activist and a philanthropy advisor.
Prof. Kenneth Mann is Executive Director of Legal Aid for Palestinians (LEAP), which provides legal aid to West Bank Palestinians who have problems obtaining and holding permits to enter Israel for employment. He is Associate Professor of Law, Tel Aviv University, an d conducts research on Palestinian permit litigation in administrative courts. He is the Chair of the Board of Gisha, Legal Center for Freedom of Movement. Kenneth founded the Israeli Public Defender system that provides legal aid to suspects and defendants in criminal cases.
Advocate Khaled Dukhi manages Kav LaOved’s Palestinian Workers Department assisting Palestinians working in Israel to restore violated labor rights. In this capacity he also coordinates Kav LaOved’s work with the Palestinian Ministry of Labor. Khaled joined Kav LaOved in 2000 after working in the Beer Sheva court system and at a private law firm.
Advocate Michal Tadjer is Kav LaOved’s lead advocate. Prominent High Court of Justice cases she has led in recent years include the repeal of the Deposit Law for refugees, the reform of the pension fund and sick leave funds for Palestinian workers, and the recent reform in the permit system for Palestinian workers. Michal also plays a key role in efforts to address labor trafficking in Israel.
Abed Dari is Kav LaOved’s outreach worker in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. Before joining KLO in 2011 he worked for over 14 years as staff coordinator at Beit Hanina Association to Promote Community Organizing in East Jerusalem. In his daily work at Kav LaOved Abed supports Palestinian workers employed in Israel in accessing their rights, particularly in cases of work accidents.
Mijal Corech manages Kav LaOved’s Research and Public Policy Department. Prior to joining KLO she worked as a journalist at Ha’aretz and Maariv newspapers as well as in freelance work. Mijal joined KLO in 2017 as the organization’s media relations manager.
